At safety, Louis Delmas and Amari Spievey return as starters, but both battled injuries last year. In the draft: If Dre Kirkpatrick is there when the Lions are on the clock, they should run to the podium. He'd be an ideal fit and an instant and long-term upgrade at cornerback. There might not be a viable first-round corner option available if Kirkpatrick and South Carolina's Stephon Gilmore are gone, but the Lions still need to address the position early.
