Boston Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz, who hasn't played since Aug. 14 because of bursitis in his right heel, will return to the lineup Wednesday night against the Texas Rangers, manager Terry Francona said. Ortiz ran sprints for approximately five minutes Tuesday afternoon at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington under the watchful eye of head trainer Mike Reinold and reported feeling no discomfort or tenderness. After his teammates pounded out a total of 14 hits in an 11-5 win over the Rangers on Tuesday, Ortiz was asked what he planned on doing when he returns from his hiatus.
