I've always been annoyed with the way all bulletin boards (not just this one) force you to look at a bunch of stuff you don't want to. Myself, all I care about is quality posts. I don't need banners, elaborate navigation, calendar and blog links, etc. And although I like some of the side navigation places, I really don't care about hocky. So I figured Firefox had to have a way to scrub all that stuff out. I found the add-on Customize Your Web here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/11759 After fiddling with it a while, when I look at RipCityTwo.com now, I see the attached without any scrolling.
I thought about hiding the "stickies", but I'm not sure this add-on is robust enough to handle something dynamic. Would it break on me tomorrow if one of those threads were un-stickied? I don't know. So I left them in there. It occurs to me I blocked out the UserCP, which is kind of nice to see once in a while. But I can still get there from within individual threads, though, so I guess I can live with that. Also, keep in mind if you decide to use this add-on, if SportsTwo decides to do major (or possibly even minor) web overhaul, you might have to set it up all over again. It's not that hard--took me about 20 minutes the first time, and I suspect it'll take me 10 min if I do have to do it again.
