I purchased a Samsung Plasma TV about a month and a half ago. I was cleaning it last night and noticed two dead pixels pretty close together. Called Samsung and they said they need to be grouped together and around the size of a dime for them to do anything about it under the warranty. Anyone had issues with this? can I do anything to fix them? Can I do anything to prevent this from happening in the future? Thanks!
Plasmas don't have pixels. I assume you have an LCD tv. Dead pixels are common. Nothing you can do to fix it or prevent it that I am aware of. If it was me, and I bought at Costco, I would return it. They have no question returns.
Common man, I know what kind of TV I have...I was able to find a page that calls them "pixel cell outages"...can't do anything about it.
I can see it if I'm sitting at my computer watching tv and looking for it. Really shows up with a white backdrop. If I'm on my couch(further away) I can't. I'm just worried they're going to continue to pop up.
I bought a 50" Vizio Plasma from Costco about a year ago. A month in I had a (one)Pixel go out on me, in the upper left hand side. Since then, nothing, and I don't notice that dead pixel unless I REALLY look for it, so I guess I've been lucky.
My LCD has lasted 2 years without losing a pixel. I've been really lucky...especially considering I bought a no-name brand for a very good price.
I bought my LCD TV over 2 years ago as well, It's a Westinghouse and I have never had a pixel die whatsoever
Should have bought the Sony LCD TV that I suggested when you broached this subject two months ago. My 46" LCD is fantastic in HD.
