Clemson wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, the Tigers' second-leading receiver, suffered a mild concussion in a car accident on Tuesday morning and did not accompany the team to the Discover Orange Bowl in Miami this week.

Hopkins, a sophomore, was driving from his home in Central, S.C., to Clemson Memorial Stadium to meet his teammates for their bus ride to the airport to fly to Miami. Hopkins suffered a mild concussion in the accident, but does not have any other serious injuries and hopes to join the team soon, according to a school spokesman.
