I don't know what kind of defenders are on the block, but the Knicks need defenders. After those two games which the opposition won the game from BAD defense, it has been made painfully obvious the Knicks are in dire need of a shotblocking big man and a good perimeter defender. When Eddie House came into the game yesterday he was just scoring off simple screens, but what makes it worse is many of his shots were open looks. The interior defense is soft as hell - there is absolutely no shot blocking and as of now we're probably last in the NBA in blocked shots per game. If Eddy Curry is going to stay here he either needs to become much improved on defense or we need a shot blocker who can compensate for his defensive deficiencies.

We also need a pure shooter and a consistent floor spreader if Curry is going to be most effective. Our best shooter is Quentin Richardson and he's been shooting pretty well as of late, but I don't want to bank ONLY on Richardson because he can get cold and hot at any moment. Crawford has shot the ball terribly this year and although he can come up clutch and heat up at any moment, it's too risky gambling on a volume shooter to save the game for us. If we can somehow acquire a shooter who can get us out of the zone and free up space for Marbury and Curry, we will be much better offensively.

I'm not a big supporter of big contracts, but if the Knicks had an opportunity to acquire a player like Ray Allen or Andrei Kirilenko, would anyone be in favor of that?

Its gotta be hard to be a knicks fan right now. Every time I look up I see these 1 point losses. It just shows they need more defence in their lineup. they have a chance to win but only lose because of defensive breakdowns at the end. Nothing hurts the morality of a team and its fans than alot of games you should've won.

Ray Allen, Curry, Frye, Oh My!
On a serious note If the knicks could aquire Ray Allen that would be a big plus. Not only is he a better defender than current Knick, he's a better shooter than any other knick.
