Defense begins closing arguments in George Zimmerman trial

    George Zimmerman's lead defense attorney told jurors during closing arguments of the Florida neighborhood watch volunteer's murder trial to use “common sense” while considering the 2012 confrontation that ended in the death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin — and used an animated video and recordings of 911 calls in an attempt to show the shooting was in self-defense.

    In a low-key and methodical presentation that began Friday morning, defense attorney Mark O'Mara asked the all-female, six-member jury to not “fill in the gaps” or “connect the dots” while considering a verdict in the case.
