Now the Orlando game makes a lot more sense. The players were sending a message to Del Negro.

I wonder if the Cavs beat us by enough Vinny will get fired after tonight. His act is tiring and can't be good for Derrick Rose. It'd be better to have a better authority like Bickerstaff or Harris to finish the year, and then make a strong push at Thibodeau, and just move whichever assistant was working as interim head coach back into an assistant role, and run with that.

We are playing Boylan ball out there, aka pickup basketball with substitutions. It's disgusting to watch. I can't take any more of it. The only good I could see coming from this is Blake Griffin or someone of that nature.

Christ. Still, that's Poopsworld, so my guess is there's a lot of speculation to it.

What makes some sense to me is that two other players were also eating and got lesser fines. The three that got their names dredged up got it because they mouthed off and showed the coach disrespect over it. Hopefully they got heftier fines for that.

I'd imagine that was what happened. Ben Gordon was eating his peanut butter and jelly, but didn't mouth off.

I wonder who the other player was that was eating. Derrick Rose? Sefolosha? Nocioni?

I'd also like to know what they were eating. Do they share BG7's love for PB&Js? Do they like Hot Dogs like Rod Strickland? What is it that Thabo eats that makes him play like Meg Griffin?

    I'm hungry, damnit!

Remember when D'Antoni called Del Negro a backstabber? Looks like he was right. We need to cut ourselves loose from this fool ASAP. There is still a lot to be done personnel wise, but having Bickerstaff or Harris finish out the year, and getting in a real head coach will be a big start.

Norm Van Lier and Kendall Gill just called for the firing of Vinny on the post game show. Said instead of worrying about players eating in the locker room, he should be teaching them about defense. Says there is no excuses about how bad the defense is.

I agree. Vinny is pure crap. He needs to go. He's worse than Boylan.

I think we should be more clear about the Poops World article. It never even raises the specter of VDN being fired this year. Indeed, it says that we shouldn't look for him to get canned until the beginning of next year. I mean, no one around here has been a harsher critic than me -- actually that's probably not true, but anyway -- but I don't think we should be holding our breath or anything.

I thought the same thing (where's it say anything about firing Vinnie) when I read this the first time.

I could easily see us firing him at the end of the season if this keeps up. You don't keep a coach who has created a toxic environment like this, especially when you're trying to develop a player into a superstar. We bsaically have no financial committment to Vinny, and the reason for that was probably so we could simply dump him if things didn't work out.

Tom Thibodeau, Avery johnson, Jeff Van Gundy. There will be plenty of opportunities to get an upgrade this summer.

Perhaps we get lucky in the lottery again, and land Blake Griffin or Hasheem Thabeet. But if we don't get lucky in the lottery, I fear that Gordon might just jump ship to a place like Miami, Portland, Detroit, or Atlanta just to be on a better team and not be tied to a sinking ship.

If Gordon jump ships, things will be ugly like they are in Oklahoma City right now.

That'd be three coaches in two years. I don't think any "A" List coach would be interested in coming into that environment. You can't let your desires get ahead of what is possible from a business standpoint. I think we're stuck with VDN for a while. And even if the Bulls do make a change, we probably wouldn't be able to score a top-flight coach. . . even if Reinsdorf was wiling to put up the money.

Avery Johnson was actively campaigning for the job. We are still more desireable for a first time coach like Thibodeau than a lot of the other teams with openings. JVG will probably stay put in his broadcasting job though.

Thibodeau would probably dismiss Vinny as being an asshat for completely ignoring the defensive side of the ball and figure he could do something with the roster.

Vinnie costs less than a big name coach. On one hand, the Bulls wouldn't have to eat that much if they did can him. On the other, they don't seem to want to pay what a big name coach costs.

Well lets just hope that they learned their lesson from Vinny on why they should pay for a real coach.

And Thibodeau would probably be pretty cheap for the first contract.

Thibideau is winning rings where he's at.

I don't blame him for avoiding the clusterfuck that is the Bulls organization, even for a couple $millions in salary.

Exactly. He's going to be a coach at some point. On his terms. Why'd he choose this franchise? The Bulls aren't a good team, and even if the were, Reinsdorf wouldn't be paying top dollar to the coaching staff. There's a hell of a glass ceiling.

The bulls as presently constructed have no shot against the better teams in the league. Getting blown out and frustrated while losing is a good sign. I'm going to wait to see how they do in their next four games. If they lose one of those, then the ship be sinking. I really think MN, Sac, Wash, and OKC are exactly what the bulls need and in a few days we can go back to debating why it's Rose or BG that should the all-star. You guys are putting way too much into this incident, there's nothing new going on here.

Yeah, but did they lose because of bad attitude, or was BG hurt. Either way, if he continues to start games 2-9, they don't stand much chance. But if BG's hurt, you can't really blame that on VDN.
