<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Jags reward Del Rio with new 3-year contractESPN.com news servicesJACKSONVILLE, Florida -- Jacksonville Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio, who helped guide the team back to the playoffs for the first time since 1999, was rewarded with a new three-year contract on Wednesday. The Jaguars essentially tore up Del Rio's old contract, which still had two years on it. He has agreed to a three-year deal worth $10 million, ESPN.com's John Clayton reports. The deal runs 2006 through 2008.After the Jaguars went 5-11 in Del Rio's first season in 2003, they have made steady improvement, going 9-7 in 2004 and 12-4 this past season en route to making the playoffs as a wild card. Jacksonville last made the playoffs in 1999 when it reached the AFC championship game under Tom Coughlin."Jack and his staff have made steady progress with this team, and our 12-4 record and return to the playoffs last season should be rewarded," Jaguars coach Wayne Weaver said. "I told Jack that if he outperformed his contract we would work out a new deal, and both of those things have now happened. We are on the right track and we want to continue on that path, and Jack Del Rio is the coach to lead this team.""I appreciate Wayne's support," Del Rio said. "We want to continue to build this football team, and I look forward to continuing in our quest to bring a championship to Jacksonville."ESPN.com senior writer John Clayton contributed to this report.</div> http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2340260

This might get them to the playoffs next year especially with the addition of Mike Tice, but they're gonna lose for sure in the 1st round.
