Nov 5 - The Heat's commitment to free-agent acquisition Alexander Johnson has been altered since the power forward signed in the offseason.

Johnson, the former Florida State standout, originally was guaranteed $350,000 upon signing, with his full $798,000 to be guaranteed if he made the opening-night roster.

But rather than having to make an all-or-nothing decision last week, the Heat instead upped its partial guarantee by $70,000 to $420,000, with the Heat now having until the league-wide Jan. 10 guarantee deadline for a full commitment. -- South Florida Sun-Sentinel
