What do you think the outlook will be on Delonte West? I've seen him play at St.Josephs and I think he is a great player. You think he'll make it off the bench and into a starting spot with the Celtics?

I really like the Kid. He's very fundemntal and plays the game 'the right way'.
My expectations for him are so high if he devolps in the right enviroment.

And that's the reason I'm hoping for Payton not to sign with the C's.

P.S.- Delonte West is my pick for Rookie Of The Year if Payton refuses to play, he's that good.

West will get some time this season, but I'm not going to count on him starting. Too many variables left out there right now to expect him to.

We don't know if GP is coming or not, if so, he's starting. Banks is back, which means he's got the upper hand in the PT situation vs West.

When I watched West during summer league, I was concerned he was a robot running through the motions that he was taught in College.

After further analysis, I believe him to just be the type of player with good fundamentals that already knows the role on the team that he's supposed to be playing. That's a good sign for the C's, because it only strengthens our depth off the bench.

He'll get some time to prove he's got skills and he'll likely help the team out some, but I don't expect big minutes from him, unless, GP doesn't come and Banks faulters alot.

If no GP, I'd expect Banks to get probably 60% of the Pt, with the rest going to West and perhaps Allen, depending on where they play him.

    Hope that helps. [IMG]

I highly agree with Hagrid on this. West is going to take a while to develop in the big league. His shooting is good but he definitely needs work on his court awareness. He tends to dribble with his head down alot and turnovers could be an issue.

I would have to say that West's court awareness is about 400-500 times better than Banks'.

I don't know about that because Banks's game is just sickning in the summer league games. His scoring and passing ability were just off the chains. West like I say has really good defense, he kinda actually reminded me of Doug Christie by the way he gets his hands in there to bump the ball away.

Delonte would have to get written permission from Banks before he could do that.
