This is so incredibly frustrating to me.

    After Obama made these statements:

    http://blip.tv/play/hJNRgbu+TwI.m4v

It would be bad enough if there was overwhelming public support for the bill, and the GOP was blocking it. However, it is NOT a popular bill, most people don't want it.

This is the most frustrated I have been with the current incarnation of the government. :sigh:

It seems many on this board are in favor of this legislation. Are they willing to defend the way the Democrats are going about it? So far, the silence is deafening.

BTW, Brian Lamb is hardly some fire-breating partisan. He's merely asking the President to live up to his word.

It's about time they did that. They should have just shut the fucking republicans out in the first place and did what they wanted. :pimp:

Why? Because most Americans don't like this bill?

You remind me of the person who tells a woman if they're going to get raped, they should just sit back and enjoy it.

Would you be in favor of doing the same thing if the Republicans were in control of the House, Senate and Executive? You do understand we're not in a parliamentary system, right?

I watch an hour or two of C-SPAN in the mornings before work. They talked about this a lot today.

They generally haven't (to my knowledge) shown these types of events. They show the House on C-SPAN 1 and the Senate on C-SPAN 2, and this is like both. Though they do show bill markup sessions of either house.

The thing is, the Dems promised they'd do this in the sunshine and Lamb is calling them out on it

The Dems are going to pass a bill that's half pork and they don't want people to see all the deals they're going to have to cut to get enough votes.

    Meanwhile,

    http://washingtontimes.com/news/2010/jan/06/7-senate-democrats-vulnerable/?feat=home_headlines

Dodd, Dorgan out; 5 other Senate Dems vulnerable

While two Senate Democrats already have seen the handwriting on the wall and bailed out of re-election races, five others trail Republicans in states where President Obama and his trillion-dollar health-care-reform plan are increasingly unpopular.

From Nevada, where Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid trails badly, to Arkansas, where Sen. Blanche Lincoln is polling at just 40 percent in head-to-head matchups with four possible Republican challengers, opposition to the health-care bill is reverberating.

We all know you'd address it if you really wanted to, barfo. ;) Shoot, if this were about Bush, that molehill would probably be cancerous.

I don't recall starting a lot of threads complaining about Bush back in the day, frankly. I don't start any praising Obama, either. I just respond to what others post.

But in reality, I really am kind of busy right now, sorry. You'll just have to be outraged without me.

Greatly disappointed is a more apt description of my state of mind.
