But so many national publications have pegged Luol Deng as one of the league's breakout players that he may start to develop a complex. That is, if he paid attention.

"I had no idea," Deng said. "As a player, I should get better. That's all I'm focused on."

Noticeably thicker through his chest and shoulders this season, Deng is playing at 228 pounds, up from the 215 at which he finished last season. Cleared to attack weights after wrist surgery prohibited him from doing so in summer 2005, Deng said his added strength already is paying dividends.

"I'm more confident in attacking the rim and trying to draw fouls," Deng said. "It's something I haven't done as much as I should my first two seasons. I need to be aggressive and try to get other people in foul trouble."</div>

I was only able to see the Miami game but I was very happy with Deng, Gordon, and Hinrich on how they attacked the basket and drew some fouls. That was something that really bothered me last year and I know some others.
