This is an ESPN Insider article...basically news around Durham is that Deng has decided to return for atleast one more year. NBA scouts are down there trying to scoop him for their team, and that is what they have heard.
Again, this is ESPN Insider, so I can't post it.

Do you guys think he should stay? I think it would be smart to stay one more year, but I think he can be a success in the NBA like Carmelo Anthony, I think he is trying to become a number 1 pick.

One more year in college before going pro will always help a player. No matter what he does he will have a future in the NBA, so I think it would be a very wise thing for Deng to do if he stayed at Duke at least one more year.

It's was a wise choice for him.He can still improve before the jump to the NBA.I think he wants to be more ready for it.One more year in college could be a great thing for him.

I thought Deng said he was staying all hsi year like Grant Hill did since thats who he shapes his game after.

Their was an article on Jan 20 that said about this.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Rated by many the top high school player in the country last year behind LeBron James, Deng will likely not make the leap to the NBA anytime soon.

"You could always improve everything," Deng said. "No matter what people say, I'm going to say I'm not there yet. I don't think I'm even close. But I have great coaches and great assistants and through my hard work it will get me there." </div>

I think Deng staying will help his game, though I wouldn't have minded Charlotte scooping him up in the draft. By staying he'll be able to develop not just his game but his body, which is a tad on the frail side for the NBA game.

He definately needs to stay. Carmelo was a much better player at this time last year. Carmelo was the man on his team. Everyone knew it. With Duke, he is beside Redick, and Ewing, and Williams, and you can't just focus on Luol. He's had a good year, but not a great year.

I think Deng would be wise to declare now. His stock is high enough to make him a lock for the top 10 (If the draft were today, I believe Charlotte would jump on him at #4). If he stays another year his stock could suffer a la Quentin Richardson (who is turning into a fine player but dropped about 10 slots by staying in school) by staying for extra seasoning. As a player, it would almost certainly aid him to star at Duke for one more season, but in terms of his draftability (No, that is not a word) Deng is only a knee injury away from losing millions. So unless his stock drops dramatically before he decides to declare/not declare, it seems like staying would be a foolish choicec for Deng,

I think Deng is smart for staying. He needs another year under his belt. He also needs to have a year with the opportunity to be the #1 option on his team. Cause, there is a good chance that he might be drafted to be that teams #1 option, and, if he leaves this year, he won't even know what it's like. But, another year of experience never hurts before making the jump to the NBA is always a positive.

Deng right now would already be a top 10 pick. But im loving this as a Duke fan because if he picks up his defense hell be a monster next year!and possibly a #1 pick.this will be very interesting to see what he turns out to be!

I really hope Deng declares. I could care less what he accomplishes with Duke - if Charlotte can grab him this year, than we'll have a great cornerstone to build upon, and imo, the sooner the better.
