The Denver Nuggets today assigned second year guard Julyan Stone to the Iowa Energy, the Nuggets' NBA Development League affiliate. The assignment is the record 118th of the 2012-13 NBA and NBA D-League seasons while Stone becomes the record 51st NBA player to have been assigned this season.

Stone (6-6, 200, Texas-El Paso) returns to the NBA D-League having been assigned last season to the Idaho Stampede when he played in three games, averaging 7.3 points, 7.0 assists, 5.3 rebounds and 23.0 minutes. Stone joins Nuggets teammate Quincy Miller on the Energy's roster.

In two games for Denver this season, Stone is averaging 1.0 points, 1.0 rebounds and 5.5 minutes. In 24 career games for the Nuggets, two as a starter, he is averaging 1.6 points, 1.5 assists, 1.1 rebounds and 7.9 minutes.

Undrafted in 2011, Stone signed with the Nuggets in December 2011 after a four-year, 138-game NCAA career at UTEP, when he averaged 5.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 1.5 steals and 30.7 minutes. For his collegiate efforts, he earned a spot on the Conference USA All-Defensive teams in 2010 and 2011.

Stone is expected to join the Energy today and be available on Friday, Feb. 1 when the team hosts the Springfield Armor in Iowa.
