Less than a week after making his first recruiting splash, DePaul coach Oliver Purnell was at it again Monday as he landed versatile 6-foot-8 forward Cleveland Melvin to the Blue Demons' 2010 recruiting class. Melvin, who was once committed to Connecticut, chose DePaul over Rutgers. "Oliver Purnell is a great coach," said Melvin, who is originally from Baltimore, but played this past season at Fitchburg (Mass.) Notre Dame. "He's a big-time head coach. They got a young team. I know they haven't been winning a lot of games. With me coming in and the other recruits, we're ready to make a change. It's a great opportunity to come in and make an impact for DePaul." Legendary Cecil-Kirk AAU coach Anthony Lewis called Melvin a recruiting steal for DePaul. Lewis thought his former player was a perfect fit for Purnell and his fast-paced system http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/news/story?id=5195264
