    QB - Favre
    RB - Green
    WR - Driver
    WR - Walker
    TE - Franks

The Packers seem to have a pretty solid lineup that shouldn't host a lot of wholesale changes. Can Favre get his interception numbers down after throwing 21 last season? Will Green have another huge season? Last, but not least, where does wide receiver Robert Ferguson fit into this mix? Will he be #2 or #3? Walker came on strong late last season.

Packmatt - What' sgoing on with the Tim Couch deal? Is it dead or what? Any rumors for Favre's replacement beyond Couch?

Last I heard, the Browns wanted a 2nd rounder and GB was only willing to give up a 5th. Also, Couch wants a 1 year deal worth way more than GB is willing to give, they will give about 1 mil or less. That also doesn't work because GB would want to develop Couch as a successor for Favre, and that won't work with a 1 year deal...

As far as replacements for Favre, I personally still have some hope for Nall, but others are pointing at Losman in the first or second...or maybe holding out for Schaub in the mid to late rounds. For awhile, many had us picking Rivers, but I think he'll go before we pick.

Rivers is an interesting prospect that you might just end up with afterall. The rumor mill says Cowher loves this kid and wants to draft him. I don't believe that will be the case. Rivers would be a nice project, but a terrible early pick. He shouldn't even be a first rounder. I think because he played well in his bowl game and had a good pro-day workout, everyone is overvaluing him.

The Browns will be stuck with Couch with that attitude... 2nd rounder? Please...

I think Butch Davis is trying to convince everyone that they'd keep Couch, so therefore trying to squeeze more out. Man, I think Davis is a jagoff...chased wolf out of town, etc. Anyway, I hope Couch isn't one of the guys Sherman "fixates" on...time will tell...

Hey, SF, I do have a question for you, too...

Just how much money are you making off of this gig?? [IMG]

LOL [IMG] Oh you know, I get $100 everytime one of my followers post. I'm retiring soon. Me & Donald Trump are having lunch next week to discuss my next scam. All I can say is DUH!

Yeah Butch Davis really needs to do something positive. He's going to get stuck with Couch or his cap number if he doesn't deal him away soon. Ridiculous.

Apparently, you and I had this whole scheme hashed out to destroy RZ, at least that's how it's been reported lately...apparently, you and I are very close, and do a lot together. Man, you must be good as scamming me, because I didn't even know I was doing that! Amazing...

(I am now dripping with sarcasm)

and yes, Davis is a tool...I'm glad GB didn't hire him...Wolf was going after him after the Ray Rhodes debacle.

Stop it, I'm going to fall out of my chair. I don't know where he comes up with this stuff. It's not like it's even close to the truth. I guess you read that I started this "crappy little website" as well. The admin here would be disappointed to hear that since this place exsisted 4 months before I got here. Oh well, if you can't beat him, ignore him, that's my motto.

Yeah, I've also read that there's hardly any activity here...he also posted a list of all the former RZ members that are now Mods here, and wants them all banned from future membership over there...talk about delusions of grandeur...However, since I'm not a mod here, he just had to throw my name in there to cover all the bases. Apparently, I'm a demon from the flames of hell (paraphrase of another post)...strange, I'm from WI, which could be considered hell, but there aren't really a lot of flames there...??? I find it quite amusing and will kill him with kindness from now on. I figure that's the best way. I hope he's over here reading all this, too. How pathetic would that be??

I could care less. My insults are only to his delusions. Personally, I don't know him, don't really know why he's so angry, and don't really care. All we ever wanted to do was talk football, not play the popularity game. We came here for peace from crap like that. No biggie, I'm just glad to see you posting here again. I look forward to swapping football info.

Actually, I've stopped by frequently and it looked like little activity...what happened was that I had some adware/spyware problems and had to clean up cookies and such. Well, I wasn't being automatically logged in, so I didn't see the "new post" sign to the left of the topics and assumed there wasn't much going on (I rarely read the dates). Anyway, it's a bit embarassing to admit that level of idiocy, but oh well, I can laugh at myself (don't you wish others could as well??) and move on. I plan on posting more, but my schedule can change on a dime so I will go in streaks, such as this week. However, if there's any time anyone wants some direct info from me, I will be happy to answer. Just because I'm not posting doesn't mean I'm not lurking...

HA! Ok, my friend. Glad you got your computer back up to speed and will be looking forward to more football talk. I too was not on much between early Feb & late March, but that's my stressfull busy season. It's not so bad now, so I basically check the site every few minutes. Or at least when I can. Lurk away my friend, lurk away...

Back to the original discussion, the depth chart of the Packers and their needs, what other positions will the Pack draft this year? I know they are looking at Rivers or Losman with their first pick, but where to after that? What needs are they trying to fill?

DE that can rush and hold up in the run
    DT depth
    OL depth
Secondary depth, moreso CB than S
    Maybe some LB depth
    Maybe a late WR/PR
Probably a QB, unless a Couch deal is worked out

My ideal would have the first 3 picks going to DE and CB/S
    Then O line or QB
O line if not already taken
    LB or DT depth
    KR

Of course, this won't happen, but I think our D is a priority over a QB...we just don't know when a QB will be needed, maybe in September, or maybe in Sept 2007...cross the bridge when we come to it. The WRs should be better this year, and the RBs are 3 deep. Not really a big problem there, but I can see a late WR pick.

It's not a very deep draft for DL or OL, but lots of good CB's and WR's. Hopefully for D-line they can find a diamond in the rough.

GB is to the point now where they don't need a high impact player, just someone to come in and do his job efficiently. Maybe someone like Odom or Hill would be serviceable. There are some possiblities on the line such as Kampman and Nwokorie, but both are a little smallish. Maybe Kenny Peterson could make a move to the outside. Training camp should answer a lot of questions...I hope.

It becomes about potential. If you can develop a young player over a few seasons, it doesn't matter where or when he was drafted. And I agree, Green Bay has a solid team and should be okay this year. They seem a safe pre-season playoff team. It's all about injuries and acquisitions.

All the talk we're doing about what DL will be able to make an impact, but it's a guarantee that a DL picked after the Packers pick will make a big contribution on whatever team he lands with. They're there, we just need to find them.

So looking back at the draft, how closely do you think they came to what you thought they needed here?
