I'm wondering, does anyone know, is Andre Barrett definately gone, because I think he's as good as many pgs in this years draft as well as an excellent backup for Jameer. If we keep him and Jameer and let steve still play the point every once in a while we are very set at the point. Yeah it's a small set of players but i don't mind the height because they can all play pretty good on ball defense. Besides that I think that the team needs defensive big men, but we should get them in the draft. We also need a 2 to backup steve, deshawn is good but i dono if i want him to be my only other 2, the three position is set we only have to worry about 4 and 5, and only the one of them dwight won't play.
He is becoming an unrestricted free agent so it will be up to the Magic to resign him. I agree with everything else you said and I just wrote an article for the JBB Writing Team yesterday and I mentioned our needs and the players that we are looking at most.
Hes game Vrs New Jesey should have earned him a spot on the roster for training camp. If the Magic Org. is smart they will sign Darrell Armstrong back. Hes a fan fav and a vet to teach the rookies a thing or two. Hopefully Barrett will play for the NBDL or a European team and after Armstrong retires he signs with us after some exp. in playing and a good shot he should make the Team.
I dont think depth is much of an issue, we have players at all the spots it was injuries that slowed us down last year and forced guys that would normally play small minutes to step up, which didnt work out to well. I think the magic should shop the 2 second round picks and move up to get a shooter like Walsh. That is what we missed last year. We have always had a consistent shooter 3d, da, miller, garrity. Garrity has fallen off a lot after that injury and I think we need to draft for a shooter with the second round pick. I know we are also looking at Wright who is a very good outside shooter.
