    <span class="titolo">Derbies Are Always Special - Gudjohnsen</span></p>

<span class="sommario">Eidur Gudjohnsen understands the local importance of beating Espanyol at the weekend, but is just as keen to take three points to continue Bar&ccedil;a's pursuit of Real Madrid.</span></p>

The Icelandic international is looking forward to the game in Montju&iuml;c and revealed that there has been no talk of anything other than victory among the Blaugrana players.

"A derby is always special," he said. "It seems like there is more to play for than just three points, but winning is important as it would allow us to keep up the pressure at the top.

"Winning would make us all proud, for sure. Losing in Montju&iuml;c is not something anyone has been thinking about though."

Gudjohnsen has started the last two matches due to a mounting injury list, but he thinks that he deserved his chance.

"The injuries to certain players have allowed me to have some time in the team, but I have worked hard over the past few months and that has served me well," he continued.

"Against Recre I wanted to show everything that I could do and it was a mistake, but I was better against Lyon, I played more for the team."

Espanyol could go above Bar&ccedil;a if they win and have made a remarkable start to the campaign, but Gudjohnsen has not kept track of their progress.

"I have not seen much of Espanyol, but I know that they are playing very well and they have a strong team, especially (Ra&uacute;l) Tamudo," he stated.

"But I think we should only think about ourselves."</div></p>
