Joe Nathan's ninth inning was filled with elusive ground balls, screams to first baseman Michael Young, and, ultimately, an exhale after a strikeout.

Nathan allowed two earned runs in the bottom of the ninth, but prior work by Texas starter Derek Holland and third baseman Adrian Beltre allowed the Rangers to hang on for a 3-2 win Friday night against the Seattle Mariners.
