The New York Yankees lost to the Florida Marlins by a score of 6-5. Starting for the Yankees was C.C. Sabathia and he left the game early because of a bicep injury. He got a no decision. Brett Tomko got the loss. The closer for the Florida Marlins, Matt Lindstrom came in the ninth inning with a three run lead and was giving up hits and throwing balls all over the place. He almost threw a wild pitch as well. After getting two outs, he was struggling. He then gave up hits to Jorge Posada, Melky Cabrera and Brett Gardner then walked Johnny Damon. The Yankees were down one run with a man on first and third and Lindstrom looked clearly rattled. So our captain, gets up and what does he do? He swings at the first pitch and grounds out. How nice. Yankees lose. Game over. Jeter should of took some pitches. The guy was wild and he wasn’t throwing strikes. During the game, I have no idea why Girardi used Brett Tomko. This guy is clearly not a major league pitcher. There’s a reason he was dropped and picked up again by a million teams. He was throwing balls like they were beach balls right out over the middle of the plate. We’re not even in the wind tunnel and he’s giving up bombs. Alfredo Aceves was pitching really well and there was no reason to take him out. What about Melky Cabrera? You didn’t think I’d let him get off the hook did you? What kind of throw was that in the seventh inning? Where or who was he throwing it to? He let Hanley Ramirez score all the way from first base. What a ridiculous throw. Even though the Yankees scored five runs, they’re still in a hitting slump. They keep swinging at pitches out of the zone and they keep hitting into double plays with men in scoring position. This offense was designed to score big runs and now they’re not doing it. The Yankees should of bombed Chris Volstad because he is what you call a mediocre pitcher. He shouldn’t of lasted against a team with a 200 million dollar pay roll. Believe it or not, he got the win. The Yankees lost two out of three to the Nationals and two out three to the Marlins. The Yankees look flat and are not playing good baseball. Player of the Game: Florida Marlin short stop Hanley Ramirez. Scored two runs, had two RBI.
