Who do you want the Yankees to sign?
Both are old. Neither should be given more than a 3 year contract.

Lowe had a better ERA in a much worse division/league. Burnett played in the premier division in baseball.
Lowe was lit up his last two years in the AL
    Burnett is often injured.
Burnett isn't as hard a worker, and doesn't always have a kill now mindset. Lowe is the epitome of hardwork.
    Burnett gets more Ks
    Lowe gives out less free-passes.

    It's a very hard choice.

Neither. Offer Pettitte and Mussina 1 year deals.

Ideal course of action, imo. Moose for 1 year, 10 million. Pettitte for 1 year, 8 million.

I'd rather bring back Muss and Pettitte and then have a rotation of :

    CC
    Muss
    Pettitte
    Joba
    Huges/whoever

However...if I had to choose one...I have no idea. Each have their positives and negatives, so it really all depends on what type of pitcher you're looking for.

Neither. But if I had a gun to my head, I'd pick Burnett. He may have injury issues, but he's a much better pitcher than Lowe. Lowe would be a below average pitcher in the AL, especially the AL East. Remember that he was kicked out of the rotation back in 2004 with the Red Sox.

And he was only 31ish then. He's 35 right now.

Good point. He also had issues with heavy media scrutiny here, and he was generally a headcase when things didn't go his way. The Sox also had a problem keeping him out of bars late at night before important starts. If he couldn't handle pitching in Boston, he won't be able to handle New York.

I'd rather give Phil a chance than Lowe. I think Cash will be forced by the Brother Steins to get one of them though

    CC
    Wang
    Burnett
    Joba
    Phil/Ian/Pettitte/Moose

That's not bad. Good options available if need be.

No way the Dodgers are going to keep Lowe. He had his house for sale since the playoffs began. He doesn't want to be here. He wants to go east. Its better if you sign DLowe. Since his never been injured while Burnett is injury prone.

I completely forgot about him. He was injured all season, which is why. So...let me rethink the ideal rotation...

    CC
    Wang
    Muss
    Pettitte
    Joba

Ok...yea...that's better than Hughes in there, though he could always be used as a spot starter. Or we could move Joba back to the 'pen and put Hughes in the lineup. But then again, Hughes could end up in the rotation anyways depending on what happens with Muss and Andy.

niether we should be going after Oliver Perez he is young a lefty and he has pitched in the big apple and imo is better then both Burnett and Lowe...AJ would be a Pavano level mistake i think he is overrated as hell and only really had 1 good season and is injury prone...Lowe would be a decent backend starter for a few years but he is old and i dont know how much hes got left after pitching over 200 inning for the last 5 or so years i just dont think he will hold up much longer...Imo bring back Moose,Petitte and go after the much younger cheaper and better Perez
