Deron Williams had a great year this year and yet the Hornets failed to make the postseason once again. Paul is an outstanding player, and I'm sure most of you would take him over Williams, but is Williams now just as good a PG as Paul? He's proven many people that he can set up the offense, score when his team needs him to, and distribute the ball just like any good PG does. He reminds me a lot like Jason Kidd. Bulky, tough, and willing to score if his team needs him to. But still a pass-first PG. What do you guys think?

I was just thinking about this comparison yesterday and I feel it has definitely gotten closer and closer...And after thinking about it more, I feel the main reason is because we arent able to watch Chris Paul play anymore becasue he isnt in the playoffs. And to be honest, I really cant blame him for his team not making the playoffs because his team isnt that talented, and they were hit with alot of injuries. If Chris Paul was on the Jazz, they would be just as good if not better...

Chris Paul is still a better player, he just happens to play for the Hornets(Who may very well be the worst nba franchise ever) even though they have made a few moves. As far as Deron he is improving but the only edge I'd give him over Paul is his defense. Other then that, Paul has a better offensive skillset and an amazing court awareness(which could one day rival nash I believe)

You have to notice that Deron Williams as a lot of weapons on offense with AK47, Boozer and Okur. Chris Paul doesn't have that much talent around him, so that gives Williams the better chance. But, Deron Williams is a leader on the court when it comes to clutch time. He will take big shots at the end of games, and make big plays. Deron Williams is really starting to be looked at in the playoffs really, while Chris Paul was looked at in the regular season. Both are incredible PG's though.

Deron at this point is ahead of CP3 due to his great leadershp thus far in the postseason. He was drafted at the perfect time in which Okur, Boozer and AK47 were all there and they needed a season to grow together. CP3 was thrown into a really tough situation in which his team had no talent at all. He turned that team into a playoff contender within a matter of months and led them to a 29-23 record to start the season off. We saw the Hornets start off 4-0 this season and end up 8-3 with all of their star players working together. West goes down, followed by Peja, and CP3 still has the team playing .500 basketball. The minute he returned from his ankle injury, he had the Hornets right back in the playoff race and they were almost there. For now, Williams is the better PG, but CP3 will make the playoffs next season, and heat this rivalry up! :dribble:

And yes, historically The Horets are one of the worst franchises. Other then the Baron Davis days, I hardly ever remember seeing them actually in a playoff game.

Chris Paul is clearly the better player. We're comparing players, not what team they are on and thus their playoff situations....Chris Paul put up 17/9/4/2 a game in a rough season, he's a better athlete, quicker, just as good a PG....it's Paul for me.

From 1992-2004, the Hornets have finished .500 or better in each season. They won over 50+ games three times in that span. They made the playoffs nine times in those 12 seasons, so I think it's safe to say they are not the worst franchise in the NBA. :dribble:

In his rookie season, he made his teammates better, and lead them to the playoffs.
