Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose doesn't want to recruit players -- now, or in the future. "That's just not me," he told ESPNChicago.com on Tuesday night. "My whole life, I've never been the type of player where I've recruited people like that." Rose knows there are a lot of people out there who wish he would pick up the phone to call Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard, who has requested a trade from his team, or other prominent free agents in the future, but the 23 year old says it's not in his nature. I kind of wish he would. The Heat players have no problem with this, and they whipped us last year. I understand he's a competitive guy and all. Maybe after a few more playoff heartbreaks (hopefully not) he'll change his tune.
I can kinda understand where hes coming from. Boozer tried to recruit Lebron last summer. He's seen ppl recruit players just to get burned. So his mindset is fuck that, youre gonna come to Chicago if you want. Me asking you to come isnt going to make a difference because at the end youre going to do what you want and make your own decision. Im with him, let ppl come say they want to play wit you, not the other way around. I actually think if a FA comes and says I want to play with you and signs with the team is better because that means you dont have to sell yourself like "look how attractive playing with me is".
