DeShawn Stevenson, is someone who we can really use now that we've possibely given up Jared Jeffries to the Knicks. Giving up Jeffries should give us the cap space to sign DeShawn Stevenson to a reasonable contract. Something that we've lacked this year has been depth and defense, this gives us both, the depth has been resolved now that we have Songaila, Antonio, Blatche (Showing lots of promise during the summer league), Pecherov, and Etan Thomas or Jarvis Hayes I do not know who is going to be starting PF this year. DeShawn gives us the defense which we need, and helps towards our depth problem whcih seems to be fixed! However reading an article on http://washingtonwizards.com the Wizards management are reluctent to give up Jeffries afraid that it will hurt losing him and Larry Hughes in consecutive years. So to sign or not to sign, that is the question.
I agree,if Jeffries goes to the Knicks or wherever Stevenson can take his place.I am not sure about Defense but offensively Stevenson is better than Jefferies.Stevenson has a better jumpshot and is better around the rim than Jeffries.I would rather have a guy like Stevenson on my team than Stevenson.Stevenson just brings more to the table and IMO has more potential.

His 'potential' is overrated, but he has talent. I'd love a Stevenson/Daniels/Songaila unit off the bench. Lots of scoring and solid defense off the bench right there.

Jeffries is young but DeShawn is only 25 himself, still has got some time in him and 11 PPG is something I like to see unlike Jeffries 6 PPG, one thing that DeShawn needs to work on still and I think he will is his rebounding, Jeffries wasn't too much better though.
