What do you guys think of him. I think JD was kind of stupid for not playing him. Deshawn has some skills playing basketball. Also i think i remember some people calling him a high school-NBA bust somewhere on these forums... After his 29 point night i would like to see that person and ask him if he still thinks he is a bust. Thank you for your time [IMG]

I've always wanted Stevenson to get a little bit more time under JD(basically like 15 mins or so), but I certainly wasn't expecting this when he got the minutes. The biggest concern on him before was his lack of a jump shot, but he definetely has worked on that and it's not really a problem now. He's very fast and he's still insanely young. I sure hope we hang on to the guy and let him either be our starting SG next year or another asset on our bench. (I'm expecting Jameer to start on the bench instead of in the starting lineup next year) A bench of Battie, Jameer, Stevenson, Hedo would be very good next year. Jent is starting to look like a genius by playing this kid. I hope he can keep this up.

Deshawn I always though was a capable player, and he is pretty much doing the exact same thing mobley was doing, or rather that he provides the same kinda numbers, but with more drives than jump shots (which as you say he has worked on no end and is hitting alot more).

My only concern is that I would rather use him off the bench and that he might not be as effective off the bench than as a starter. If he develops more to next season we might be looking at 15ppg off him. He also has a nice jump and can get blocks etc.. for a guard that is handy to have (similar to wade who seems to get blocks alot).

He is one of the players I want to keep. Should we keep stevie, I think that him, jameer, stevenson, hill and hedo will make up our backcourt, with maybe a draftee or something. DC I think we should just cut our loss's on him and try and lure in a decent vet for him, I am sure alot of teams will want a strong role player like DC to help balance things out, but I think DC will just serve as a reminder to most of how this season turned on its head in luck.

I watched him a lot when he was on the jazz. He did improve, but had some little things he couldn't fix. like how he always would lean back and kick out a leg when he'd come off a screen at the top of the key. Deshawn in Orlando is something I haven't seen a lot of. I hope he will get some more pt after his performance last night, but he won' t have performance like last night very often. I hope he can find a system that can utilze his talent's. He needs to be out on the floor running the breaks, that where he can be the man if he becomes a better finisher.

I always knew that Stevenson could play because it's obvious. Even though he doesn't have the biggest basketball IQ whenever he plays he brings a sense of energy into the game. Although he has potential there are still some things he needs to work on because he plays out of control at times. But the only we he can get better is if he gets the opportunity to get better which he wasn't given to him that much earlier this year.

I don't see Nelson coming off the bench next year. He's played very well this season when he was in the starting lineup and I think it'd be hard not to start him. Beyond that, I remember hearing on SC I believe that it isn't likely that Francis will be back for another season in Orlando. Not totally sure about that one though, so don't quote me on it.

Wow, I would be suprised if the Magic gave up on Stevie so quick as Moo said he heard. Last summer when the Magic were trying trade T-Mac, they made the offer to the Rockets and Francis was saying how much he didn't want to play in Orlando. Soon Weisbrod was really begging him just to play for the Magic and let it be finally after Francis and Weisbron had meetings Francis ended up agreeing to play for the Magic. Now Weisbrod is going to trade him? Maybe Tracy is right.

I dunno, I think that that their might be a look at trading stevie purely for a great shooting guard, or for maybe some combo of young guard and forward with potential.

I think whoever is coach next year should be shot if Dwight isnt utalised fully, and with players (who are young) like Dwight, Jameer, Hedo and Deshawn, all hot prospects, and the likes of a new rookie picks (deep draft again this year) and maybe Andre Barret (I have grown quickly attached to him [IMG]) we do have a nice young team, that we might try and take a leaf out of Chicagos books. Mix versatile, reliable veterns with young talent.

I am opptimistic about the situation, as it stands we have alot to gain and not much to lose, we have a good team, that if it wasnt injured (4 IL players? thats a first lol) we would actually be alot better than we are currently.

One big problem here was always that our coaches couldn't really utilise the talent on the team and gave up on them too early or didn't have the system for them to play up to their potential.

True, but now is the time to use it really. We (as of writing) are down by 20 to the pistons, the game is lost, what do we have to lose cept try and get howard ROY, pad some stats and try and see who can do what.

Tonight has sealed our lack of playoff spot. Tonight wasnt as much about the win to me, it was about proving that we can win the next few games. With Detroit away, Miami and a couple others, its going to be mathmatically impossible soon. We might aswell try and salvage something, we dont want to go and trade away talent and get nothing for it.

The Magic really hurt themselves by trading away Cuttino Mobley. That did not make Francis a happy person considering how good of friends that him and Mobley are. I think the Magic might have quite a bit to do come the offseason if they intend on keeping Francis.
