Detroit Tigers: Deja Vu in Texas

The last time the Detroit Tigers was in Texas, they started the series the same way: Won the first game, then lost the last two. The Tigers won on Friday night, but then dropped the last two games yet again.

On Sunday afternoon Rick Porcello had the mound. In his last start in Texas, Porcello pitched six innings and only allowed one run in a win against the Texas Rangers. This time through, his luck would change.

The Rangers would get to Porcello early in the game. Josh Hamilton hit his 31st home run– second of the series– in the very first inning to give Texas a quick 2-0 lead. Then in the bottom of the third, some bad defense would hurt Porcello and let the flood gates open for a big inning.

The Rangers would score three more times in the bottom of third, putting the Tigers down into a big hole that would not be able to crawl themselves out of.
