"Now, all the Devils can do is wait for general manager Lou Lamoriello to make his moves. The Devils completed their preseason schedule Saturday night with a 2-1 loss to the Islanders at Nassau Coliseum. The next time they put on their uniforms will be for their regular-season opener Friday night at Prudential Center against the Dallas Stars. By then, Lamoriello will have done something to get the team under the $59.4 million salary cap before Wednesday's 3 p.m. deadline. Getting to that point might be stressful for some players, though. "Obviously, something has to happen and you're going to think about it," said forward Dainius Zubrus, a candidate to be moved. "But it's out of our hands really. So, you sit and wait and see what happens over the next few days." One definite move will be placing defenseman Anssi Salmela, who is recovering from surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament and a torn meniscus in his right knee, on long-term injured reserve. It also appears likely that defenseman Bryce Salvador is headed for LTIR with a concussion that will sideline him indefinitely." http://www.northjersey.com/sports/pro_sports/hockey/devils/104228404_Devils_look_at_final_moves.html
