The series would be over tonight if the rangers showed up for one of the previous three games but here we are facing another game 7. What a surprise.
Momentum is a weird thing. Rangers are battle tested. Great win. Experience matters in G7. Hopefully they figured out something on Schmid too.
Well, that was a good win. A lot of people had the Rangers written off after game 5 and who could blame them. Huge bounce back and plants a seed of doubt in the minds of the Devils. 45 hours to prepare for the biggest game of the season. Bring a ton of intensity, overwhelm them from the start, get some traffic in front and shots on whomever is in net for them. A very winnable game! Game 7 baby! Let's gooooooooooo!
Agreed, I'd be shocked if Ruff didn't start the kid in goal again. I think he really has to. He's the reason they got back into the series, and V has been awful in the playoffs in his career. Game 7 is so interesting to me. I honestly don't think anyone can predict what will happen. We maybe have the MO after tonight, we have the better goalie, we have way more playoff experience - and a ton of game 7 experience, they have to be a little uncomfortable mentally given our history and their lack of experience, their goalie has to overcome tonight and do what he has never done, and in general have been through this many times. The Devs have home ice - which I think will matter in game 7 with a loud Devs crowd, a kid goalie who we couldn't beat for 3 games, maybe the little edge coming in off an L that could help focus them, and we still have the stench of games 4 and 5 out there. Really have no clue how to predict that game.
