Now I understand that what team you watch, will sway your thught. I would much rather see some guy hit, thats paid to hit then watch a pitcher hit. During interleague play its kinda funny watching guys like Verlander swing the bat like a crazy lady.
You should have to play the field to get the opportunity to bat. There's obviously way more strategy involved when the manager has to choose if/when to pinch hit for a pitcher.
I love the DH, thts why I rarely watch the NL, I just think its more fun with a DH. Its nice to give guys like Crawford a day off from playing defense and put a young guy in for him like Zobrist last year or Fernando Perez.
Yea when you have the bases loaded 2 outs and the pitcher hits the ball like 10 feet right in front of the pitcher or a bunt, that just kills it for me. It is nice to see some pitchers hit like Zambrano, Sabathia, Micah Owings, but thats like 3 pitchers out of 200 that can hit. Rays pitcher Andy Sonnanstine actually did good as the DH the one game he was forced to play due to a scorecard error which Longoria was suppose to hit, like 1 for 3 RBI Double, his lifetime avg is like .300 through like 6 or 7 games
