Oct 25 - Amaré Stoudemire's return to the starting lineup means Boris Diaw's return to the bench tonight in Phoenix's preseason home finale. But it's no demotion and it's no different in terms of statistics. Diaw has started 129 of his 154 games for Phoenix but his stats as a reserve last season were nearly the same as those as a starter.

"I worry about him a little bit because I think he likes the feel of being part of the game immediately," Suns coach Mike D'Antoni said. " ... I just have so much confidence in him that I think he'll be great."

Diaw's passing brings cohesiveness to any lineup, and he's in the NBA's top five for preseason minutes. The Suns try to run more offense through him when he is with backups. -- Arizona Republic
