Dick Van Patten, a onetime juvenile star of Broadway, radio and TV who played the genteel patriarch on the hit 1970s comedy-drama “Eight Is Enough” and proved his versatility in Walt Disney fare and Mel Brooks parodies, died June 23 in Santa Monica, Calif.
