Charlotte is paying Jason Richardson $51 million over the next few years and for what? They are coming 12th in the East at 10-16 and Richardson is not even averaging 18ppg, 17.4 on 41% shooting to be exact. It's not like he's not getting played either, almost 36 minutes per game. I always was a big fan of Charlotte's future, I thought with Gerald Wallace and Emeka Okafor they had a good defensive pair to build around, plus loads of cap room and a good young point guard in Raymond Felton. Granted that Brandon Wright hasn't showed anything this year and the Bobcats made out like Bandits talent-wise in that trade; but did they anticatalyse their rise to the playoffs and possible future good-ness (for a lack of better word). They could have had the $13 million of Richardson + whatever other capspace they had to spend on a big name free agent this or next offseason, and it could have been coupled with someone like OJ Mayo or Michael Beasley and then spent on Gilbert Arenas. Do you think acquiring Jason Richardson, a guard who doesn't really fit in well with their system, held back Charlotte?
It is a bad team that needed some NBA ready talent along with somebody that could score the ball. He is shooting 44.9% from 3.
