I love Martin, but Ratner made the right move, it seems. I was all over him, in 2004, it just looked like an awful move, despite the fact, Martin was getting very greedy. We would be in an deep whole, had we kept Martin, and never traded for Vince, which we couldn't have, without those picks. Assuming Martin become injuried anyway, Nets would be royally screwed.
Kmart was never a 100 million dollar player even if the Nets knew he was going to be uninjured for the next 7 or so years. He was like 26 when he signed the contract and only really had 3 or so more improving years
The Nets have proven they have had a very solid medical staff the last couple years. Possible they knew? I won't put it past them. -Petey
