15.3 rebounds in January. You have to wonder if he is really going to retire after the season, like he said earlier. Or at least I think that's what he said, no one knows what he says. But, in all seriousness, he's playing like he's 5-10 years younger. I don't think he can retire yet. He has a lot left in his tank, and could really help the Rockets make a push down the road in April.
I agree, He's been a serious help for us with Yao out. I love the passion, I love the finger wag, I love everything about him.Now...Who wants to sex Mutombo?
Dikembe is really stepped up for the Rockets in Yao's absence. He has been a blocking/rebounding guru! Im really glad because I loved him when he was the sixers in 2000
Mutombo is better for Houston than Yao. Yao is still better, but Mutombo helps the team chemistry more. Mutombo should stay
mutombo is a fu*kin beast, one reason is he BOXES out..perfect text book example. may not be the BIGGEST guy (although he's a NICE size at like 7'1 or 7'2 lol) and he isnt the greatest leaper, but he boxes out which is huge...this is why he's been able to be such a successful rebounder.
Mutombo certainly isn't the flashiest guy out there, but he is solid. He's becoming one of my favorite non-Mavs at the moment.
I thought I heard during the game yesterday that he's planning to play a couple more years. He is one of my favorite players also.
I love the way he is playing. A guy in his 16th season playing like he still has a lot left in the tank is amazing. I love his textbook style boxing out. That is how he can still get a lot of rebounds despite being 40 years old.
dam. just last season dea was people sellin shirts sayin "Motumbo for Retirement!". now dey'v all mysteriously disappeared..
Dikembe Mutombo might be old but he has shown that he can still be a good player in the league and has been a freak on the boards ever since Yao Ming has been out with his knee injury. I don't think anyone really expected Mutombo to contribute this much to the Rockets.
Mutombo is playing amazing. It looks like he's trying to get back into his vintage self. But then he's awesome on the blocking area. He's just a monster to clash with. And he's so into his finger nodding thing.
Yeah he's been amazing, but if u havent noticed he is slowing down a little bit and will probley continue to as the season goes on due to his old age.. but still damn he's doing a fine job and im sure he's still going to be a big impact on both ends of the floor.. I hope he dosen't retire for another 5 years
