Dirk Nowitzki breaks 50. MVP???

Wow, Dirk just exploded today against Golden State. When his team was down he just exploded. He used some nice pump fakes to give himself room. He nailed jumper after jumper. It was simply spectacular. He also used his usually step and then go and then lay up to help him score points. Too bad his team lost though. With 5 seconds left in the game, Dallas with a 2 point lead. Jason Richardson snatched the missed free throw and literally exploded to the 3 point line. Spun past a player, leaped and nailed the buzzer beater. (If you didn't watch the game you will see this on SportsCenter in the morning.)Anyway, this isn't about the game, It's about Dirk. i think he is a very serious candidate for MVP. When Dirk was getting hot the crowd shouted MVP, MVP, MVP. That got me thinking about this...the MVP award is about carrying your team to a very good record and being the most valuable player to your team. Well that's Dirk. Everyone thought the Mavs would get their usual 5th or 6th seed and then out in the first round. But not this time, the Mavs are serious contenders and our challenging the Pistons and Spurs for the best record in the League. The way he carried his team, pumped up the crowd. I think he and Nash are the top 2 for MVP right now.

 

I don't like either of them, I like the black MVPs I'll vote for Kobe.

 

LMAO! ^^ yes i do too. but i would rather have kobe mvp cuz he is the most valuable to the lakers (obviously) but seriously i would go between dirk and nash.. tnt guys said its only dirk and nash..

 

I believe only Moses Malone won MVP with an 6th seed or below team. that's why I don't think it will be Kobe.

I think he has a shot at the MVP.

 

Kobe will obviously be in the race, but I honestly don't think he should get it, nor do I think he will get it. He has had an amazing season, no doubt about it, but the award will go to either Nash or Dirk. Chauncey was a candidate in my mind, but after the Pistons started slipping, he dropped down the board.If the voting was done today and if I had a vote, I'd give it to Nash... again.

 

Elton brand is the Mvp of the league. Clips in the playoffs automatically makes you the mvp.

Don't forget the addition of Mobley and the improvements of Kaman. Brand is far from MVP.

 

Lakaboy this is the clippers. Elton brand is playing amazingly and the clippers are making the playoffs.I would say kobe is the mvp however his not going to win [seriously, do you think there going to give it to him].Dirk also is in the running,

 

Elton Brand has always played very, very well but just doesn't get noticed because of the Clippers' losing all the time.Cassel and Mobley have played a huge part in the LAC turnaround, and without those two guys and Kaman's stellar play, the Clips wouldn't be winning the way they are right now.

 

Brand is an MVP candidate but I think Nash and Nowitkzi are on top of it though I think Nowitzki is doing more for his team than Nash. Marion is a heck of a player and now the Suns have Amare back while the Mavs are dependant on Dirk right now.

So what if he scored 50?It's not like he led them to victory.What makes his 50 points so valuable if its in a loss?I agree that he's a legit MVP candidate- and if I had a vote- I would consider him, I just think that the title of this thread is stupid.

 

Because his team was down and he carried them up by nailing jumpers, the way he led his team, his swagger and how he energized the crowd. After watching that I think he deserves to be MVP. Only a stupid mistake would keep him from winning this one. But come on, he has led the Mavs to just about the top of the West.

 

This game is completely irrelevant to his race for the MVP bc he LOST the game!

 

These were two different ideas. I didn't say that he would be MVP because of this night. It's because of what he has done the whole year/

 

So why does it take this game to make this topic? And why does it mention him scoring 50 in the topic title?

 

Because I thought because of that outburst it would be a good time to post MVP ideas for him.
