Hehehehehe. Just for the record, I was present, in person, for that last loss. It poured, my daughter was in my wife's belly and it was freezing. It sucked. So, ten years is really sweet!
One of their bloggers is upset about the horse-collar tackle and the fumble/touchback that was over turned. The horse-collar tackle was a missed call, just as the deep PI on Addison was a missed call, so we're even there. But how on earth can they complain about the fumble ruling? The ground not causing a fumble rule has been in college and the NFL as long as I can remember. http://www.uwdawgpound.com/2013/10/12/4832226/ducks-whip-huskies-instant-reaction The same blogger made a stupid comment, that we should be worried about our lack of explosive running game. Did he not know we were using our backup RB?
I love it so much I can hardly stand it. As someone born and raised for a goodly while in Eugene I live to beat the Huskies. It makes my whole year. And to go to their new stadium, with UW loaded with talent and finally playing up to it, an electric, rowdy, loud & packed hostile stadium with all their BS arrogance... And we come in sans our top 2 playmakers and beat them soundly with intimidated refs (18-1 penalties against us through 3 quarters and UW is the most penalized team in the conference, and I don't care how much ANYONE tells me they know about football I will assure you that's a screw UO job of epic proportion as there is virtually never that much of s discrepancy in a college game like this) and on the end we beat them and make them eat it, too. And we ran well on them minus DAT. They can cry all they want to about the possible missed horse collar tackle, but they had it all their way and still lost by 3 TD's. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, yeah I love it!!! Eat me, Husky fans. Cry your little hearts out. Boo-hoo, boo-hoo. Hey, see ya at Autzen next year. Have a happy one until then.
Someone posted this in the comments....so maybe it was not a horse collar tackle because he let go before dragging him down: So fuck you Huskies!!!! The refs didn't help you here. In order for it to be a flag, by the NCAA rule the player has to be immediately yanked down. The defender is allowed to grab the ball carrier by the back of the jersey and either bring them down forward, or hold on for a couple yards before finishing the hit. I think the refs actually got that one right. Here’s the full rule, verbatim. “Horse-Collar” Tackle (Rule 9-1-2-p). With this new rule, the committee addresses the potential hazard to a ball carrier that is grabbed by the inside collar of the jersey or shoulder pad and quickly jerked down. The rule prohibits all players from grabbing the inside back collar of the shoulder pads or jersey, or the inside collar of the side of the shoulder pads or jersey, and immediately pulling the runner down. This does not apply to a runner who is inside the tackle box or to a quarterback who is in the pocket. A key element is the immediacy of the runner being pulled down, because of the risk of injury. The horse-collar tackle is a personal foul and the penalty is 15 yards.
here's a couple of windows/links into Fusky fan hell the comments section from the Seattle Times game recap Seattle Times Fusky beat reporter's recap bon appetit! STOMP
I've seen some very respectful posts though. Saying that we're the better team, and complimenting us. I think they're delusional if they think they're really closing the gap though.
if recruiting sites are thought to hold water, Washington's recruiting rankings have been more or less on the same level as Oregon's in the years before Tosh arrived. This is especially true if you go by scout UW is thought to be a better school and is surrounded by a much bigger recruiting base... those are significant advantages in the recruiting game. UO's culture, schemes, & coaches/trainers combining to develop a team full of focused overachievers is my guess as to why Oregon has been slapping them silly with similarly thought of prospects STOMP
I think Sark would only like to see us once a year in the Pac-12 championship with LA rich talent. Don't be shocked if he splits for the USC job, the one they should have given him before they hired the Lame Kitten. He'd inherit and impressive D in the making anchored by Sua Cravens, and one hell of a quarterback in Max Browne and a beast of a running back in Ty Issac. UW had their window this year to beat us, I think Sark knows it'll be years before they get even.
