Kobe, do you think he'll opt. out? I think he will. Now since Shaq is injured, the Lakers are playing .500 ball. Without Kobe, Lakers play .750. The media is really getting on Kobe about this fact. He's out to prove that he can win without Shaq. Additional question, can he win without Shaq?
<font color="Blue">Thread moved</font> Try to post team related topics in their respective forums. Thanks. I think he will opt out...I hope he does. He wants to be THE Man, that will not happen in LA. If I were him, I would stay in LA.

"Now since Shaq is injuried, the Lakers are playing .500 ball." What are you talking about? LOL. I personally don't think he'll opt out, his wife is from LA as well as her family still living there, he seems settled in, and he may not get the same support with his off-court problems elsewhere. Of course I don't want him to leave, and yes, with some other good players around him and can help him out on the offensive in, Kobe CAN win games.
No. Kobe, in wake of the rape allegation, has gotten the most love in Los Angeles. He's also spoken of how he doesn't like to lose, if he goes anywhere else other than Los Angeles, Minnesota or San Antonio, he'll lose every season. The Lakers are the only team that'll pay him what his market value is; this all assumes other teams not clearing their roster to make a play for him.
umm guys what bout the Blazers, their owner works for Microsoft...... Paul Allen is armed with huge checkbooks, if they want to make good use of their money they should hire Kobe, Blazers can probably offer Kobe highest amount of money seeing their owner is richest around the NBA
I think Phil told Kobe to slow down cause Shaq doesnt really like kobe taking over the team so he listened, when Shaq was out with a toe injury he went on a rampage with 10 straight 40 pt games
Kobe has said in many interviews he wants to see whats out there. So he will optout 100 percent but he might still sign back with the lakers.
Kobe will not opt out. He may go and be like other free agents and talk to other teams, but he should be able to come back and resign with the Lakers. I just can't see him in any other colors but purple and gold.

Kobe will opt out of his contract and see what the rest of the league has to offer, then he will make a decision. But yes he will opt out, but the Lakers will be a high option for him. I believe he may lean toward a smaller market IMO.

I'm sure he knows Kobe is going to opt out.
Kobe should stay if he wants wins.. if he wants stats, being the number 1 guy, carry a team no where then leave.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting allnet:</div><div class="quote_post">Kobe should stay if he wants wins.. if he wants stats, being the number 1 guy, carry a team no where then leave.</div> Yeah, that's exactly how I feel about it. If he leaves, he may not win any championships for a long time, he needs Shaq, and Shaq needs Kobe. Lakers have a shot at the trophy every year, I wouldn't trade the feeling of winning a possible championship to do things like lead the league in points, and feel like hes the #1 guy.
Magic has only 1 star player, which is McGrady most team has 2, so i think itll be awesome if Kobe went to Orlando....... hehe just a thought

Kobe would not be the #1 player in Orlando, that's T-Mac's team. That would never happen.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting allnet:</div><div class="quote_post">Yes,I'm sure Kobe wants to be playing basketball for the league min.</div> not that I think that will ever happen but, maybe Orlando can throw a trade like the Suns did and dump out those lousy contracts * Grant Hill *. Hell maybe they will even work some kind of buyout with him, then thast 10-12 mil off their books and boom.. they have a ton of cash to spend. o yeah but theres no way Kobe will go to Orlando because he's not going to play behind T-Mac.
I cant make a very good judgement of that. I hope he stays though. Whatever team hes on is my favoirte. lol.
Kobe might opt out just to test the waters, and knowing Kobe that shouldn't be too much of a surprise. I think he will. I don't think he'll sign elsewhere though. LA's his place, and when Shaq is gone it'll be his team. Not a very good team, but his nonetheless.
Kobe WILL opt. out, he has already said it himself. It is the smart thing to do. That does not mean he will not resign with them however. My personal bet is that he leaves though.
