i think its advertising, i mean he comes here and only post about that, its completely random and then he acts like he doesnt really know the site but lists the correct link anyway and tries to sell it to me and refers to Andy Reid as "had a philly show with their coach this mornign"

why would i be posting a huge companies website. it could only be two reasons-one i own the company-that's not possible. two i am a stockholder-this company is so big that i don't think the 100 people on this website are going to effect a stock price. . Now the real reason you are mad is that I am a Ram Fan and you are mad because we beat Philly in the championship game. Seriously this Sirius is great. you get every game and every teams announcers. if you are on a vacation driving across the country your not going to miss a play. You still haven't told me if you heard of this company.

I have heard about it but don't know much. I have the NFL ticket so it would defeat the purpose. Sounds cool though.

you shoud have heard about it-Brady is their spokesman- the NFL package isn't going to help you when you have to be on the street (for whatever reason on a sunday) you can drive around and still hear the patriots announcers calling the game. what i like is that even if i wasn't a football fan the music stations are commercial free and the talk station like the 24 hours nfl are great. why don't you check out their website www.sirius.com

I don't think the local feeds will be hurt in any way. In fact it may actually attract more listeners. I heard about Sirius's deal with the NFL a few weeks ago. I had been thinking about subscribing to satellite radio for a few months since I'm on the road alot, but wasn't sure. I think I will go with Sirius before the start of the season, especially since NFL.com starting charging for the radio play-by-play last year. I had begun to enjoy listening to other cities pre-game shows, just to hear what the local fans have to say. ********GO PANTHERS*******

Welcome Ramsflafan. Thanks for the heads up on the sirius, I might have to check it out. Unfortunately I work on Sundays mostly, so the only watching I get to do is refreshing on yahoo.sports.com. This might be a nice alternative...

Philly Freak, your sales pitch detector went off for a good reason... you are getting the Sirius pitch almost word for word from the printed page.

As to his question, will it hurt the local broadcaster. No. Here is why. Only a certain number of folks will be interested in listening to a NFL game on Sirius. Folks who can't get the game on TV or those who live outside the local area of the team they support. Local listeners - won't. The reason is the delay - the call of the game will be *at least* 12 seconds behind the actual game. So it won't be like you hate Brent and Herb or what ever numbskulls who are calling the game for Fox and you want to listen to your guys.

You will see the play - and then 12 to 15 seconds later, you hear the play by play? That won't work.

But for people who live away from thier team, and don't have the Direct package, then the Sirius Radio might work. I say might for several reasons. Sirius has a real issue with working indoors. The radios typically need an outdoor antenna to work.

So if you want to pay $130 a year to listen, maybe, to the home team, with all the commericals attached, it just might be the perfect thing for you. All BS aside (and I have been intentionally giving you the bad side, to balance out the pumping you have been given above), for a fan far away from his team, this might be a godsend. But the number of people who fit this example will be pretty small. So it won't hurt the local broadcaster at all. Especially since he will be getting paid for it too.

Now, if you like college ball too... you might have to get a XM radio too. Aint like a biatch? (They are going to have college football and basketball - instead of the pros). Tough choice for the true sports nut.
