I voted no for 2 reasons.... 1.Its not college football, so there are no ratings, which makes it hard to be overrated 2.I rate them as being good enough to go all the way, which for them is the NFC title game(they have a mental block that assures they will go no farther than that)
No not at all. The NFC is pretty weak, but they're still dominating it. If you look at the threats they propose, then you can really see why. Teams have to worry about McNabb running the ball, throwing it 60 yards to TO (and now even Pinkston), or throw a screen to Westbrook. Chad Lewis and L.J. are playing fairly well, keeping another option open for the offense. I hate to say it too, but Levens seems now to be running like a power back. He's been hitting the holes hard, and he's been keeping Westbrook's legs pretty fresh. Our offensive line is also something that I think is pretty underated. If they didn't catch the injury bug, they'd probably get more credit. As for the defense, the schemes the defense has is pretty damn confusing. Since we've made Rayburn and Hollis Thomas the top DT's and gave Trotter more time, our running defense has stepped it up. There's also the threat of Jevon Kearse, who is a damn good pass rusher. Really, I think people don't give the team enough credit. It's an impressive group
They just look good cuz their playing practically the easiest teams in the Nfl, next to SF and Mia. They should be clobbering teams like the colts, and the colts have a hard scheduel.
It will be interesting to see how the Eagles handle the Packers. Should be at least one measuring stick. We all know how they "handled" the Steelers...
I had to vote no based off their record alone. They have been fairly consistent so far. I wouldn't place a lot of money on them in the playoffs, but its hard to argue with one loss for the entire season, regardless of who they are playing. Oh, and welcome to the forums!
They arent over rated, not in my opinion anyway. They got a good team, and obviously they are winning games as seen in their record. Even though NFC is the weaker of the two. They'll still do well against AFC teams.
i dont think they are overrated, they have great talent and great chemistry. they are 10-1 cant argue with results
they arent over rated. i dont see them losing to anyone else thorughout the season, although id like to see them loe to cincy on week 17 so they get rid of the loss. then we can go right through the playoffs
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Eagles4Life)</div><div class='quotemain'>to whom exactly??</div> i dont think it matters to whom. just as long as they lose. You dont care who they beat as long as they win right?
There's no way they will win this year. They can't beat teams with good Defense, as we all saw when they played the Steelers. The Colts D is getting better, and their Offense speaks for themself. The Pats, Steelers, and Colts are gonna have a hard run to the SuperBowl, but the Eagles have the easiest Conference and Division, so they practically have a bye to the Bowl. The Eagles Offense is ok, but they're too predictable on who they're gonna go to, where as with the Colts and the Pats they have like 6 allstar recievers to go to. With the D getting better the Colts, and Pats will most likely meet in the AFC championship. Where the Colts will get some payback, and we all know they should have won the season opener. Anyways i've said enough. Ciao
Totally wrong Defenses facing the Eagles have many threats. Teams now have to worry about Pinkston, who's having a pretty good year. L.J. Smith was more of a threat earlier, but injuries have been plaguing his gameplay. If he's healthy, he'll tear LB's apart. Plus, you have Westbrook, who breaks games open. We can't forget about TO either, who is basically becoming unstoppable. Lastly, McNabb's running threat. So tell me, with all that, where are they gonna go? Colts defense might be getting better, but christ what offenses have they played lately? Detroit, Chicago, and Houston. The last offense they played was the Vikings WITHOUT Randy Moss, and they still let up 28 points. Yea, they're really improving. You can say the same for the Pats and Steelers when you say they don't perform well against good defenses. Hell, you can say that about any team, but all three of the 10-1 teams have losses to great defenses. Bottom line, the Eagles are far from over-rated, I'd say they're under-rated.
I agree about Indy's Defense, but there is about a .1% chance that Philly can stop Indy's Offense. It would definately come down to Turnovers- Like almost everygame in the NFL
The big difference between the Steelers and Eagles or Patriots is that our loss came with Maddox as the starter. Since Roethlisberger came aboard, he's won 9 games in a row. The Eagles & Pats lost with everything they had. I don't believe the loss of Dillon cost the Pats the game against the Steelers since they are the #1 team against the run and the game wasn't close. Time will tell just how good the Eagles are.
Eagle fans shouldnt be able to be in this disscussion cuz its obvious wht theyre goin to say. The reason i think theyre overrated is because if McNabb or TO gets hurt they wont be close to as good as they are.
Well we really didn't have Westbrook, he still had bruised ribs and he was getting over a chest contusion. Plus that game was just a mistake, I could tell from the start that the Eagles had totally underestimated the Steelers, so we'll see. And yes BF1, that's exactly what I believe would happen. It would be real tough to stop that offense, but their defense isn't going to shut ours down either. That would be a fun game to watch if your a fan of offense
