Rivers is the first Celtic coach to win Coach of the Month twice in one season and only the second Celtics coach to have won the award twice. Rivers guided the Celtics to an NBA-best 13-3 record during March. During the month the Celtics were able to sweep the Texas Triangle for the first time since February of the 1987 season. Nine of the Celtics 13 victories came against opponents that currently would be in the playoffs. The Celtics also led the league in average margin of victory with a point differential of 12.6 points per game. This is the second time in Rivers' career that he has been named the NBA's Coach of the Month. Rivers was named the Eastern Conference Coach of the Month for November 2007 earlier this season when he led the Celtics to a 13-2 month which tied the team for the most wins during the month of November in franchise history.</div> Source
