I heard today on NBA TV where they announced that Doc is going to go to the Celtics and become head coach there. I am personally quite disappointed. I really wanted Doc to be the coach of the Raptors...i thought he would have fit the spot so nicely. But...now that he's out of the picture for the head coach position, who else do we have to turn to? Jim O'Brien is gone to Philly. My 1st choice now is Byron Scott and my 2nd is Jeff Bzdelik (assuming the Nuggets release him). Who do you think is our best bet now?

dunno about scott....seems like in NJ ppl say it was eddie jordan running the system. plus, jkidd doesnt like him which worries me since jkidd is a pass-first, team player type of guy.

who knows? he might be goo with the raps though......

jeff would be cool if he comes here. i would liek him....a

if we dont get any of these guys then we might just go and get some current assistant or something...

    hey, what about george karl?

If George Karl was hired I'd kill myself. Plus, we don't have the wiggle room to just throw away the kinda cash he'd want before coming here.

I think the Raptors need to make a run at Byron Scott, people may argue this but if your coach took you to the finals 2 years in a row then he is not a coach that deserves to be fired. If you are a team that wants/needs a new head coach, go for Byron Scott!!!

i think they have to get byron scott and if another team hires him then george karl or someone else, there really isnt another choice for the raps except the 2 coaches.
But i like byron scott and hopefully he will get hired.
and if jeff bzdelik gets released he probably will be a choice.

Man did I hear Geroge Karl, please NO!!

My order would be Jeff Bzdelik, Dwayne Casey, Avery Johnson and I don't know, but I don't want Byronn Scott.

I definitly agree with og15. NO GEORGE KARL! Jeff Bzdelik will be the one to go after if the Nuggets release him.

I don't know about Avery Johnson. He has no coaching experience. Maybe as an assitant coach, but not head coach.

I'd think George Karl would have had dreams of coaching the Raps for a while after Vince simply owned the Bucks in that one fateful game.

vince owned the bucks quite a few times actually. first he dropped 47 on ray after ray got the olympic spot over him.....then a year later (i think...could've been 2 years), vince dropped 46....

I was disapointed when I heard this news, he was my first choice for our next coach.

We were unable to get him because we don't have a GM so they're still behind on selecting a coach.

I'm unaware of the situation in Denver with Bzdelik, although if they do decide to release him I guess he would be my next choice.

Yea he can come, and also bring Marquis Daniels (whom we should have drafted in the first place) with him.

yea...i was really hoping dallas would fall in the first round. im sure big changes are in the mix with managment because of this. the raps getting del harris or nellie is a major possibility now, maybe even one as our head coach and one as our GM. hell, we could even use who ever they got for scouting.

with them in control of things, a sign and trade that would include nash is also a possibility. if it wasnt blatantly obvious to dallas before, it certainly must be now, that they are in bad need of some kind of low post defender, legit center down low...getting a hold of that wont come cheap, and will hurt their chances of giving nash some major dollars

why is everyone so hyped up on getting Nash? the probability is sooo low and we would have to give up a lot to get him...think about it guys

well if it doesnt work out in dallas he might want to come to toronto. Canada is his come country. plus, hes not going to far in dallas anyway.

i know the raps have been bad but all we lack is a point guard and a big man. if we get nash then the point position would be filled and all we would need is a big man.

nash might realize that in dallas the up tempo offense and non-existant defense wont get him a championship. it may just be time to move on.

No.'im sorry but I just donot see this happening. Steve Nash wants to come to Toronto or atleast has shown some interest and I too do not like him in that Dallas uniform, but Toronto, if they decide to do a sign-and-trade deal, whatnow? they have the point and all they need is a big man? it is slightly more complicated than that taking other situations in consideration like the salary cap (Raps are top 10 in that department). Harry_Balls5, i know where you are coming from( probably the most intelligent posterwith that name too) but let's face it, the raps cannot afford to get him or even risk getting him.

<font size="1"><font color="red">Please refrain from insulting other posters, there is no need for that and it is not permitted at JustBBall.
