I am 26 years old and up until I got out of the Air Force in July I was playing pick up games usually at least 3 times per week and intramural games during the season. I have been looking for a place to play since I have gotten here. There is a church down the street from me that has a gym and they used to play in the summer I guess but every time I go down there nobody is there. I would love to play some pick up games at a church or a city league or something like that. So where do you guys play. BTW, I am in Carrollton, but am in Farmer's Branch, and Irving pretty often...

There are plenty of opportunites to get games.
I play 2 to 3 times a week in Fort Worth at the rec centers and have played in the Lockheed Rec Center league in Fort Worth.
I have played in the Dallas, Grand Prairie, and Arlington city leagues in the past. There are several church leagues in the metroplex not to mention that many health clubs have league play.
If you want to pick on HS kids, show up at the local concrete pads and show them that there is more to basketball than slam dunks and treys.
I've also coached kids for the last 12 years from the youth association level to national level select teams. Youth associations and church leagues go begging for coaches every year, maybe you might find it fun....

Same here. What concrete pads are you talking about? How do I find out more about the city leagues?

Concrete Pads are in most parks and outside most high schools. When I was in High School, we played nearly every night, but Thursday nights were when the 'players' came out. I would guess most High Schools have a similar situation.
I played in the Dallas City league for over 10 years and I would guess its similar for Garland, Richardson, Lewisville, etc.... Call your city's recreational facility or the Parks and Recreation Department. The Fort Worth paper regularly runs ads in the sports section for league play, I would guess that the Dallas paper does as well.
Check out any of your moderate to large size churches. Many will have a fairly nice 'Life Center' with a nice basketball court. Often a nice place to pick up local league play.
