    Feel bad for KG?
i know i do...looks like minny is on their way to their 7th straight first round exit...wutta waste of effort for minny to try to get home court advantage...and to think all the blazers had to do was beat the clippers (how hard could that have been...although odom did have a helluva game)

Think the Suns can beat the Spurs?
Starbury has consistently dominated Parker all season long...Suns took 3 out of 4 in the regular season...maybe this matchup depends all on the rookie Amare to see how well he can slow down Duncan? I think Penny will be another key to this matchup...Penny and Joe Johnson have the ability to do some damage and of course Marion will hafta show up bigtime...but i think it could happen...i wouldnt bank on bruce bowen doing much to slow down marion...

Think that there will be a lot of upsets in the East?
Orlando can take Detroit...we all know that much...if T-Mac gets rolling Detroit will be helpless trying to stop him...The Bucks beating Jersey...the nets have looked flat lately...but the bucks need more consistent production from tim thomas and desmond mason to pull it off... but a backcourt of Cassell and Payton is quite nice come playoff time cuz thats a lot of experience right there...Philly and the Hornets...i love AI's game...but i dunno if Philly is gonna have enough to hold off a healthy hornets team...but i know better than to count out any team that has AI on it...the guy can pull off games all by himself and he won't let them go down without a fight...Indiana should take the Pacers...

Feel that the NBA did the right thing making all of the rounds 7 games?
i think it makes sense...although it takes away more of the possibility for a shocking first round upset...it keeps things very consistent through the post season imo...

Really wish that MJ coudla been a part of it?
    -.-v

comment on these issues and maybe post some more?

Yeah, Minnesota definitely got the short end of the stick, but everything was fair, so it's just how things go. I don't think the Suns can take the Spurs, even though they fared well against them in the regular season. I think the Spurs will handle them pretty handily. I'm not surprised to see an upset pick on Detroit. No one has given them respect the whole year, so this is no different. Just watch their games and you'll be singing a different tune after the first round. I think the Nets will defeat the Bucks as well. New Jersey has a good inside player in KMart, and he'll just beat up on the weak, undersized interior on Milwaukee. I do like the upset pick of NO over Philly.

And yes, I like the fact that they're all going 7 this year. More basketball is never a bad thing.

I am glad the Pistons dont have to vs the Bucks in round 1. We can beat the Magic if we find a way to shut down McGrady. And the Blazers could not even beat the Clippers. :-x

I think the Suns have played very well as of late with Hardaway and Joe Johnson doin what they can to contribute. I think they can take the Spurs if they have won 3 out of 4 matchups, and Magic prolly can take Detroit but T-Mac sittin out last night wasn't smart by Doc Rivers. He doesn't want T-Mac's head blown up so he always sits him down if he's on the verge of scorin 60 or somethin

magic did good losing last night though, because honestly they have a better matchup against the pistons than the nets even with a healthy big ben, because other than ben, the pistons aren't that great of a rebounding team.

i think a lot of lower seeds will be winning in the east and i still have faith in Minnesota to beat the Lakers especially if shaq is out a game for his wifes pregnancy....Rasho will still be posterized a few times

    ...

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">maybe this matchup depends all on the rookie Amare to see how well he can slow down Duncan? </div>

The Suns haven't been able to slow down Duncan all year...except maybe the last game they played...and they still won 3 of 4...Duncan (excluding the last game they played) has never gotten anything below 30 points, 15 rebounds, and 5 assists against the Suns this season...with that being said, Amare needs to stay out of foul trouble...the last stretch of the season he has been sitting out long periods of the game because he picks up two fouls in the first quarter, sits 'til about halfway into the second, then quickly picks up his third foul...I think the Spurs are going to take it in 6, maybe less...however, if Penny (the main reason why the Suns defeated the Spurs in the playoffs a few years ago when they were without Duncan) plays like he did the last time these two teams faced off in the playoffs the series may very well go to 7...Penny and Marbury have a lot to prove to the fans, players, coaches, etc. They have been bashed for a while and the need to prove doubters wrong can push the Suns over the top...Marbury abuses TP everytime, but the Spurs are bound to do something to stop that this time around...it will be interesting what the Spurs will do to combat the athletically superior Suns frontline...it would be nice to see the game at a run and gun pace, but the Spurs have Ginobilli, Parker, and Jackson who can more than hold their own in a run and gun type situation...also, the big X-factor in this series can be Joe Johnson...if he plays like he has played the last few games of the season, the Suns just may steal the series...but for now I'm am still going with the Spurs in 6...

i think the suns have a good chance of beatin the spurs, in the last game the two teams faced off, the sus allowed duncan to get 8 shots off in 38 min, that is sic defense, marbury just dominates parker, if amare can perform they will dominate, the key players for each team will be
    suns - marbury
    spurs - duncan

It'll be good to watch those teams go at it, Suns shut down Duncan limiting him two 8 shots but can a team shut down Duncan twice like that?
I don't think so but if it was no one off what does that mean to Duncan?

Yes. Minny is going to be a first round casualty. KG had a great season and is my pick for MVP, but his team will not be able to handle the Lakers. It's too bad the Blazers and T-Wolves couldn't go at it. At least one of them would have ended their 1st round exit streak.

Suns taking out the Spurs is going to be a tall order for Phoenix. The Suns did take the season series 3 to 1, but the Suns struggle on the road and I think the Spurs are going to ride their hot streak and take this series in 5 games. Amare might not be ready to handle the pressure and intensity of the playoffs. The Suns need him to produce if they want to compete. Marbury has not proven he can win in the playoffs either. But if the Suns can steal game 1 or 2, we might see the Spurs collapse mentally like they always seem to do.

My upset pick in the East is Hornets over Philly. In the playoffs you need to have more than just 1 consistent scoring threat and Philly only has AI. The Hornets are going to attack him with Baron, Wesley, Kenny, and Alexander. The Hornets have Mash & Baron to carry the offensive load and the Hornets have a solid frontcourt. Last year the Hornets had playoff success without Mashburn, so I expect them to go even further this year. Hornets might even be good enough to make the NBA Finals.

At first I didn't like the change to 7 games. But as a fan of basketball it does provide more games to watch, but it will limit the upsets. I think the longer series is going to benefit teams with big men. Players are going to breakdown having to guard Shaq, TD, JO & Brad Miller. Physical teams really benefit from this format.

I'd like to see Ben Wallace be healthy enough to compete. I like the Pistons style of basketball for the playoffs, and the addition of Billups and RIP should payoff huge in this year's playoffs. The Pistons needed a PG last year and they went out and got their man. But without Wallace holding down the middle, the Magic might be able to get out of the 1st round. T-Mac is deadly when he able to drive to the hoop, and Gooden thrives on weakside offensive rebounding.

    Yes Jordan is definately missed.
