I personally have never read an issue of it, but I've wanted to. The reason I'm asking now is because Marbury is on the cover of the new issue. The cover can be seen at www.suns.com.
I used to read it as a kid. There were so many cool articles, it helped me really get into bball. I have an old ish with Isiah (Thomas) on the cover, and inside is an article on Jordan's 63 (with an interview w/ Oak about it). If its anything like it was 10 years ago, I'd read it.
I used to read it as well. Decent magazine, but like most magazines these days, there are far too, many ads. The Suns are getting a lot exposure, first SLAM, and now Hoop magazine. They have 3 great players and they will have a lot of cap room next season to make a run at a legitimate center. Eric Dampier, Adonal Foyle, and Stromile Swift, or making a move to land Theo Ratliff.
I've never really read one, but I noticed that it's also kind of like a fashion magazine. Marbury looks pretty fly on the cover, and I've seen past issues with CWebb and other superstars wearing expensive suits
The Suns' website states that it's the official magazine for the NBA. Maybe they have the players dress up to give off a good image of the players? I'm thinking that's one possiblity, either that or they have them dress up as a fashion statement or just for the hell of it.
Yeah, it is the official mag, so that would make sense. The first ish i got(the one with Isiah) was being handed out at Isiah's last game in Charlotte(unfortunately he was hurt), and I think they've handed them out at other games too.
