I just looked at the mock draft at nbadraft.net and all I can do it laugh. Do any of you place any value in what they say?

I only use it when I'm trying to figure out where teams are picking in the draft, and what are the outstanding trades involving draft picks.
LOL! CDR with the last pick? 50% to be in the rotation and 20% to be a starter? The man will be a good backup, and probably a starter within a few years. Also, how does he have a higher chance of going into the HOF than him becoming an allstar? All HOF were Allstars, but not all Allstars are HOFers.

I just use it for the "Draft History." Otherwise its a complete waste of time. I remember someone telling me that their best scouts and writers ended up leaving for DX at some point. I hate mock drafts in general, after the NCAA tournament though.
They look like a joke compared to DX but it seems like they've actually been closer to the correct draft order than DX is when it comes time for the actual draft. Wait until just before the draft and see which one is closer to what actually happens.

That's nice and all, but I'm in this year round. With the information that is out there these days, someone can start paying attention to the draft two weeks before it and make a pretty decent first round mock. Personally, I've never been in the mock draft game for the accuracy standpoint. I'm about looking at who projects well to the NBA and the discussion of why some players are better than others.
The problem I have with mocks is that they can never seem to decide between what they think will happen and what they think should happen.
I have no idea why any one would even go to nbadraft.net when draftexpress exists. Now I'm not saying that DX is without bias, or contains the most knowledgeable opinions, but in terms of the breadth and depth of their (first-hand) scouting, and the details in which they describe their players, it's the best thats available.
I like Draft Express for the scouting. Don't always agree with the slotting of the players (and how the team order is always wrong)

While their mocks are updated relatively frequently, they still have the Nets at 15.

The season is over so theres a rough idea for most players but we still haven't gone through all of the pre-draft camp, measurements, etc. etc. Even at the top guys kill their stock by refusing to workout against other players or being uncooperative. Its hard enough to get close the week before the draft but year round is basically impossible. No one faulted DX for putting Taft as the #1 overall pick before the 05 draft but at the end of the season it was clear where he really stood. If it were a science there would be no sleepers or steals or busts. The best players would go in order. But its not, if an NBA team who invest millions upon millions of dollars in their draft picks can't get it right how are a bunch of fools on the internet?
I'm with you on this one, cpaw. I haven't really valued nbadraft.net for about 3 years. Draft Express blows it out of the water in every possible category, especially up-to-date information. To me, Draft Express is a legitimate site all-around, with trustworthy ties, resources, and scouts... while nbadraft.net looks more and more like a classic case of "mock drafts made in a basement" each year. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Chutney @ Apr 11 2008, 09:15 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I just use it for the "Draft History."</div> And even then, Draft Express has that as well, and with more features. Also, to the people saying how they don't like how DX's mock has the teams in the wrong order - it doesn't matter this early. They don't touch that until the time comes, because it's just a waste of time at this point. Plus as of right now, their mock isn't taking team needs into consideration. It's just basically a power ranking list.
the master of ambiguity strikes. what made you laugh? i don't like how dx strokes their own ego in their writing. or their love affair with pat calathes.
