There's been some talk that, because of Bob Johnson's background in television, he is going to start up a regional sports network for Charlotte, which would presumably broadcast most Bobcats games.

I surely hope so. BET is national television as well, and it would definitely provide some fresh programming.

Outside of ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, TNT and Fox Sports Net, I generally don't watch any other channels BUT BET. It'd be great for me.

Hehe, just read my last post, and realized it didn't really answer your question. I'll try again.

If you don't live in or near Charlotte, then I assume that BJ will make accessible Bobcats games' viewing rights to his BET network. I doubt the league will do anything to stop that, since there really won't be that much demand outside of the Carolinas to watch the Cats play.

I hope that BET does get these broadcast rights too, since where I'm at might be outside of the local network that is put up.

Same with me man, that would be sick. That can be an extra channel to see the Bobcats play on, I hope they follow through on this.

I love BET but their sports coverage sucks. Their coverage of the CBA was extremely weak. And their coverage of the black College football games are weak as well. Its sorta like when cable access tries to show sports. It just has a bootleg feel to it. If bet was to show the games they better get some legit announcers. I think they should bring in John Tompson & maybe former basketball player/announcer Reggie Theus. And then a former Hornet player like Kelly Tipuka( he announces Nets games right now but thats because the Hornets moved to New Orleans). Those three would make up a solid announcing crew. I dont want to see AJ & Free doing play by play for the Bobcats. Showing videos during team timeouts.

For once, I agree with you. But I'm confident that if he could get the games on BET, he'll make watching them worthwhile.

Oh god, AJ and Free doing play-by-play? LMAO, that is not how I meant it. Yes, I agree that the broadcasting is horrible for the other sports coverage that has been played on there. They would definetley need some NBA announcers who have been around the game a while.
