I been pondering this question for a while now. After seeing Game 1 of the season and seeing that Boris only shot the ball twice, I thought he needs to. Now I know that he is an unselfish player that always passes to the open man, but considering the fact that he is probably at least the 3rd or 4th option on the court at all times, I thought he would shoot the ball more. Also consider the fact that the offense runs threw him a lot of the times when they dont go with the Nash pick and roll. After looking at some numbers, this is what I see. Last Seasons Numbers:Boris DiawShots Per Game:10.5Minutes Per Shot:3.37Here are some Sun players that were reliventNashSPG-13.4MPS-2.65MarionSPG-16.9MPS-2.39BellSPG-11.8MPS-3.18BarbosaSPG-9.9MPS-2.81J. JonesSPG-7.7MPS-3.13T. ThomasSPG-9.5MPS-2.58K. ThomasSPG-7.4MPS-3.61E. HouseSPG-9.37MPS-1.87Now you may think that I forgot to Bold Kurt's numbers, but everyone that is bold shot the ball with a higher consistantcy that Diaw. That's 7 of the top 9 players on the team(Excluding Amare). Now, if I was Mike, I'd want Diaw shooting the ball more. I'd want him shooting the ball before a lot of other players on the team. Also, Diaw shoots the ball quite well(52.6%) from the field. I'd like to here some opinions from Sun fans since they watch more Sun games that I do. Tell me if my assumption is true, or if he is shooting about the right amount of shots. Also, here are some more numbers from other teams. Last year, Diaw was the 3rd option on the team behind Marion and Nash. Here are other teams 3rd Options. I didn?t do all of them because it would of taken forever. Out of those 14, only Josh Smith, Delonte West, and Smush Parker shoot the ball at a lesser rate. Well he's not a great shooter yet but he has made me angry when he passes up wide open jumpers and lay-ups. During the end of the season last year he figured it out and was being more aggressive. I don't know why he went back to ALWAYS passing the ball. I'm sure he'll figure it out again eventually but he really needs to take the easy shot opportunities that he gets.
