Does this have Merit? OK, humor me, The arbitrator has suggested that his ruling may not be till January, thus effectively costing the Yankees all of the off season in planning and budgeting the payroll effect to the Yankees cap. My argument is that MLB has brought the suspension to Arod. They have all practical intent of having him serve 200+ games without pay, this they have ruled. The MLB suit is on behalf of all the teams and the best interest of baseball in general. The Yankees have acted in good faith with both Arod and MLB and have conformed to the rules of the CBA and MLB. Thus why can't they ask MLB for a 1yr waiver of Arod's money applied due to Selig's ruling. This waiver would allow the Yanks to exempt Arod dollars against the Cap, until all the rulings become final. The Yankees would still be responsible for whatever financial obligation they would have to Arod as a result of any court ruling, but the suit by MLB wouldn't damage the party (Yankees) they are trying to protect. It is not the Yankees fault that they are in limbo. OK Attack!!!!! is this so unreasonable?
If this arbitrator takes more than 3 weeks to make a decision on this case baseball needs a new arbitrator
...^^^ though the defense has rested, both sides are allowed a minimum of 2 weeks to make final arguments/rebuttals.
...I think the Yanx have no choice but to go ahead and start signing some people...if they wait till January they may be left out in the cold.
