1. [IMG] Toronto RaptorsTeam Needs:Help anywhere but PF. They need a perimeter scoring threat to go along with Bosh and Charlie Villanueva. They have holes in alot of places, but they need a player that could be great. So this obviously narrows it down to 2 players.Raptors Select: Rudy Gay, SG/SF from The University of Connecticut. Option #2: LaMarcus Aldridge2. [IMG] Chicago BullsTeam Needs:Interior offense. They already have some incredible guard play and interior defense. They need a guy who can score the basketball in the post.Bulls select: LaMarcus Aldridge, PF/C from Texas (Comparison: Marcus Camby).Option #2: Andrea Bargnani3. [IMG] Charlotte BobcatsTeam Needs: A shooting guard, primarily a shooter, but the last thing they need is a player with no defense (cross off Adam Morrison from your lists). They would like someone who could help right away, but someone who will have a long and fruitful career.Bobcats select: Brandon Roy, SG from Washington (Comparison: Charlie Bell, but more talented -- Grant Hill, a little).Option #2: Rudy Gay4. [IMG] Portland TrailblazersTeam Needs:Help anywhere, some defense. They can go in alot of different directions with this pick. Supposedly the fans want Morrison, but they say the minute a GM takes the fans' advice, he'll be sitting with them (that means he'll get fired [IMG] ). Zach Randolph and Darius Miles want out.Trailblazers select: Tyrus Thomas, from LSU (Comparison: Shawn Marion, but less skilled)Option #2: Adam Morrison5. [IMG] Atlanta HawksTeam Needs:PG and C. Some interior offense, or a good playmaker to distribute the ball.Hawks select:Andrea Bargnani, PF/C from Italy (Comparison: Mehmet Okur)Option #2 Marcus Williams6. [IMG] Minnesota TimberwolvesTeam Needs:Interior defense, outside shooting. When a guy like Morrison is on the board, you can't pass him up. He'll make an instant impact and will hopefully appease Garnett into staying.Timberwolves select: Adam Morrison, SF from Gonzaga (Comparison: Carmelo Anthony).Option #2: Tiago Splitter7. [IMG] Boston CelticsTeam Needs: Playmaking point guard, or a mid range post player. It's tough to tell where we will go w/ this pick. We have depth, but not great players at each position. Judging by that and the fact that we're one of the youngest teams in the league, the draft won't really help us alot. DA said he wanted a player who could make an immediate impact.Celtics select: Marcus Williams, PG from Connecticut (Comparison: Option #2: Randy Foye8. [IMG] Houston RocketsTeam Needs: Depth. They'll take an impact player at any position, except probably Center. They need some scorers for whenver Yao and/or Tracy gets hurt. Rockets select: Randy Foye, PG/SG from Villanova. (Comparison: Jameer Nelson)Option #2: Rodney Carney 9. [IMG] Golden St. WarriorsTeam Needs: Interior offense, defense. In a draft lacking size, Golden State will be forced to pick a project and see if he'll work out.select: Patrick O'Bryant, C from Bradley. (Comparison: Michael OlowakandiOption #2: Cedric Simmons10. [IMG] Seattle SonicsTeam Needs: Depth on the wings. They are already set with young talent at the PG and Center, which is great to build off. They could use some defense, tooselect: Rodney Carney, SF from Memphis. (Comparison: Rashard Lewis + Defense)Option #2: Ronnie Brewer11. [IMG] Orlando MagicTeam Needs:They are already set at PG and in the post. They could use an all-around player to help with scoring, defense, teamwork, etc. because they are not weak in any particular aspect of the game.select: Ronnie Brewer, SG from Arkansas. (Comparison: Tony Allen, only less athletic and better PG skills)Option #2: Shelden Williams12. [IMG] New Orleans HornetsTeam Needs: Outside shooting, rebounding. It seems as though JR Smith is not working out, and he will likely be traded before the draft, so it seems logical to pick a SG.select:JJ Redick, SG from Duke. (Comparison: Reggie Miller)Option #2: Mardy Collins13. [IMG] Philadelphia 76ersTeam Needs: Defense, depth. Allen Iverson is aging, and Kevin Ollie isn't a great option, so a PG should definitely be on the top of their list. But Webber's knees aren't getting any better, so it would be safer to go with a back-up PF. I can see them picking either of the following two players.select:Shelden Williams, PF from Duke. (Comparison: Antonio Davis)Option #2: Mardy Collins14. [IMG] Utah JazzTeam Needs: Outside shooting, guard play. They have a terrific backcourt, but the backcourt is weak. They will likely take the best guard available (preferably a scorer).select:Mardy Collins, PG/SG from Temple. (Comparison: Aaron McKie)Option #2: JJ RedickI will get to the rest of the first round later..

Pretty good. Only thing I noticed was the Rodney Carney to Seatlle pick. They have a star player in Rashard Lewis, so why would they need to draft Carney?

depth. in the post, they have Robert Swift, Nick Collison, Johan Petro, Chris Wilcox. They don't need to pile on another mediocre player. They need depth on the wings. Especially now that Ray Ray is aging.

No one drafts a lottery player to back up a star player on a team. They should go for big men if anything. That is their biggest hole.
